Cyan's newest fairy house

Tucked away in the corner of my yard, every now and then, pops up a magical fairyland.

This time she asked me to help her make the fairies a swing:

Nathan would love this. He has the same sort of imagination, which I find rare among boys these days. One day after listening to several L. Frank Baum books, I found him crying. "What's the point of being alive if I cannot step into fairy land? I wish I had never been born if all I can do is read about these stories. I read all of the Oz stories, but now I cannot even enter them."

That is completely sweet! I love that he had such a creative reaction. I always tell Cyan that she can visit those worlds whenever she wants to... she just has to read/listen to the stories and she is right back there!

(If he hasn't read Inkheart, it is about a bunch of people who love books... I think the way they discribe living through books as a great way to have a conversation like that. :) )
